Guide to Getting the Best Stun Guns
We are often asked what the best stun guns are. The answer really
depends on a number of things, such as voltage, reach, and ergonomic
design. But user preference and competence are the things that
ultimately decide which stun gun is best for a particular individual.
If you are the type of person that isn't comfortable with a close
range struggle, get a stun gun that shoots projectiles from a distance.
TASER and Stinger are two popular brands that make these types of stun
guns.
For regular close range stun guns, stick with Streetwise, Talon, Stun Master, and Z-Force (ergonomically geared towards women) made stun guns.
We prefer the models that have grips with finger grooves. A wrist strap
is a must.
The easiest to use close range stun weapons, in our opinion, are stun
batons. These have a grippy rubber handle with finger grooves to ensure
a firm grasp. They are usually more than a foot long (reaching almost
two feet sometimes). The tip or the sides can deliver the electroshock.
This larger surface area makes hitting your target more effortless. If
the attacker will also get stunned if he tries to grab the baton.
If you want to be discreet, items such as stun pens, cell phone stun
guns, and mini stun guns are a good choice. These are small but
extremely powerful, but they have voltages ranging from several hundreds
of thousands to one million. Streetwise is a good brand for these
smaller types of stun weapons.
As you can see, there are lots of choices out there. Once again, the
best stun weapon truly depends on the user. But if you were to ask us
what our favorites are, then we would have to say TASER projectile stun
guns are our first choice. In a confrontation, distance is your friend. A close second would
definitely be stun batons because they are intimidating and very easy
to use. Thirdly, stun pens are our favorite of the smaller sized
weapons because they can easily be taken anywhere and the easiest to
handle. In general, we prefer stun guns with several hundreds of
thousands of volts. TASER is the exception because even at 50,000 volts
they still can easily drop an attacker. Our favorite products usually
come from TASER and Streetwise.
